Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a disease that causes the cells inside of the breast to grow in an abnormal way. Breast cancer primarily affects women but in rare cases has been known to develop in men. The most common symptoms of breast cancer include, lumps in the breast; changes to the shape of the nipple or breast; and unusual discharge coming from the nipple. Bloodwork is used to provide insight to many different aspects of our health, including the level of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Additionally, these tests can help to determine the hemoglobin levels that are present in someone’s blood. All of this information can help doctors to identify issues with the body that may otherwise be symptomless.
